Rules: There is a four-year period that is free from taxation. During that time the settlers are to clear the land of trees and build their homes in a straight row. Each settler may clear 30 morgens of land.
Taxes are due 10 November each year from each settler:
- 67 gulden
- ¼ of all oats harvested (or 8 gulden)
- 2 geese (or 2 gulden)
- 2 roosters (or 6 groschen)
- 1 dozen eggs (or 12 groschen)
- 1 wagon of chopped, split wood (or 12 gulden)
Work required from each settler each year:
- 4 days digging ditches/ graves (or 2 gulden)
- 4 days harvesting crops for The Count (or 2 gulden)
- 1 day scythe work (or 1 gulden)
- 1 day cleaning mud, mire, manure (or 2 gulden)
- 2 days hoeing fields for The Count (or 1 gulden)
- Plowing 3 morgens of field for The Count (or 1 wagon of chopped, split wood)
Settlers must attend the Catholic Church in Krolikow:
- Baptism fee – 1 gulden + 6 groschen
- Marriage fee – 4 gulden
- Burial fee – 4 gulden
The Schulz decides if full payments have been rendered each year.
In Addition:
- The Count may nullify your ownership of land at any time.
- No one may advertise land for sale from another town.
- The Count must be present if a settler’s farm is sold; The Count approves the sale and receives 10% from the price.
Infractions of The Following Rules will be Severely Punished:
- No one may bring drink into town to sell.
- Stay out of My Forest. Damage to My Forest must be reported.
- No hunting in My Forest. Villagers may ‘drive the animals’ during one of my hunts and will receive a meal and drink.
